The Holy Day Book 2 is a story that shows the growth of Russell’s life from the time he wrote his first book, poems, lost hidden scrolls and letters when he was very young. In addition to, how the people of this world, believes in the changes that is needed in each persons behavior and to themselves. Also, to other different kinds of cultures and people that are less unfortunate of our world and space. And above all, in this time that we all live in, remember you are your own creation. Previous to any other day or person, yourself or others. Views, hidden and expressed or suppressed, memories seen through your own personal eyes and views. As well as living on this very planet, we all call earth. Struggles, battles of different kinds, are won by love, faith and hope. Life, was kept in the dark by the dark that lived before him, and what was taught to him. It’s all on how you look at your days and nights. Storms of powerful winds, along with a voice that helps in little ways, to show encouragements in times of worries and stress. Letters that are written to God himself, words of love and sorrow, with a light that frees the sins, and the wrongs of all humanity. Written in so many words.

In this thought-provoking and beautifully illustrated volume, Jacobs invites us to reconsider the significance of Joseph of Nazareth and the role and influence he had in the life of Jesus. Relying on a careful reading of Scripture and recent archaeological studies, he challenges the historic and contemporary assumptions of those who have sought, through their writing and art, to marginalize Joseph and his importance in Christian history and the life of the church. Recognizing that Joseph is often minimized or left out of religious and cultural representations of the holy family, in plays and in Christmas cards, he reminds us that like Mary, Joseph was chosen by God to care, teach, and shape the one who would bring salvation and hope to the world. In the process, Jacobs encourages us to see Joseph as Scripture presents him—as believer, dreamer, prayer, protector, teacher, husband, and father—and as more than just the other person in the picture.

Many people think that profound disability presents us with a real problem, often because it seems difficult to connect with someone who does not seem to think or act like us. Positioning profound disability in this way immediately sets up a ‘them’ and ‘us’, where the person with profound disability becomes the problematic ‘other’. Attempts to bridge the ‘them’ and ‘us’ risk reducing everyone to the same where disability is not taken seriously. In contrast to a ‘them’ and ‘us’, and negative connotations of the other found in the existentialist philosophies of writers like Sartre and Beauvoir, Pia Matthews argues for a return to a positive view of the other. One positive approach to the other, based on an ethics of relationship as championed by Levinas, seems to mitigate the other-ness of profound disability. However, this still makes the person with profound disability dependent on the ethical concern of the more powerful other. Instead, this book argues for return to a personalist philosophy of being offered by Mounier, Marcel, and Wojtyła, and deepened by participation, belonging, and the possibility of contributing to the good of all. This deepened philosophy of being gives a more solid foundation for people who are especially at the mercy of others. It will be of interest to all scholars and students of disability studies, philosophy and anthropology.

Sydney Shoemaker is one of the most influential philosophers currently writing on philosophy of mind and metaphysics. The essays in this collection deal with the way in which we know our own minds, and with the nature of those mental states of which we have our most direct conscious awareness. Professor Shoemaker opposes the 'inner sense' conception of introspective self-knowledge. He defends the view that perceptual and sensory states have non-representational features - 'qualia' - that determine what it is like to have them. Amongst the other topics covered are the unity of consciousness, and the idea that the 'first-person perspective' gives a privileged route to philosophical understanding of the nature of mind. This major collection is sure to prove invaluable to all advanced students of the philosophy of mind and cognitive science.
