With exuberance and joie de vivre, author Joan Hough Harrington explores the twists and turns in the hearts and minds of women in this unique compilation of her writing. By turns romantic, sad, amusing, and philosophical in tone, Harrington’s work considers a wide range of topics, including friendship, familial and romantic love, inspiration, conflict, and everyday life. Her clear perspective relies on neither rose-colored glasses nor the murky lens of disappointment and depression. In her verses Harrington shares the occasional sly smile along with the experiences, heartaches, wishes, and dreams of women of various ages, as well as her own understanding of death’s effect on the living. She also presents a selection of narrative poems and a series of brief prose essays. Created with women in mind, this collection of light poetry and prose offers a look into the hearts and minds of women, indulging in thoughts of romance and of life’s joys and sorrows.

Have you ever wondered how many times people without any background or any formal education, even after facing multiple financial and social obstacles, manage to push through and create immense abundance and become self-made millionaires while those with all possible advantages in life do little to become one? This is because more than money or power, it’s the mind that makes a millionaire. Having such a mindset means you could be faced with the wildest of situations and difficulties where you see no way out, not immediately at least, but despite that, with your faith and persistence, you can overcome them. Their thoughts, feelings and actions radiate hope and positive expectations. A self-made millionaire perseveres and either finds a solution or creates the necessary conditions for one. So then how do you control your thoughts? What do you think? The book shall help you realize your dreams. It contains plenty of exercises that require one to be particular and honest. The book also uses some of the NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Techniques which are going to help you change your self-limiting beliefs and install the right cognitive programs in your mind.

There are three themed parts to this book: values, ethics and emotions in the first part, epistemology, perception and consciousness in the second part and philosophy of mind and philosophy of language in the third part. Papers in this volume provide links between emotions and values and explore dependency between language, meanings and concepts and topics such as the liar’s paradox, reference and metaphor are examined. This book is the second of a two-volume set that originates in papers presented to Professor Kevin Mulligan, covering the subjects that he contributed to during his career. This volume opens with a paper by Moya, who proposes that there is an asymmetrical relation between the possibility of choice and moral responsibility. The first part of this volume ends with a description of foolishness as insensitivity to the values of knowledge, by Engel. Marconi’s article makes three negative claims about relative truth and Sundholm notes shortcomings of the English language for epistemology, amongst other papers. This section ends with a discussion of the term ‘subjective character’ by Nida-Rümelin, who finds it misleading. The third part of this volume contains papers exploring topics such as the mind-body problem, whether theory of mind is based on simulation or theory and Künne shows that the most common analyses of the so-called 'Liar' paradox are wanting. At the end of this section, Rizzi introduces syntactic cartography and illustrates its use in scope-discourse semantics. This second volume contains twenty nine chapters, written by both high profile and upcoming researchers from across Europe, North America and North Africa. The first volume of this set has two main themes: metaphysics, especially truth-making and the notion of explanation and the second theme is the history of philosophy with an emphasis on Austrian philosophy.

"The philosophy of mind is unique among contemporary philosophical subjects," writes John Searle, "in that all of the most famous and influential theories are false." One of the world's most eminent thinkers, Searle dismantles these theories as he presents a vividly written, comprehensive introduction to the mind. He begins with a look at the twelve problems of philosophy of mind--which he calls "Descartes and Other Disasters"--problems which he returns to throughout the volume, as he illuminates such topics as materialism, consciousness, the mind-body problem, intentionality, mental causation, free will, and the self. The book offers a refreshingly direct and engaging introduction to one of the most intriguing areas of philosophy.
