The theme of the conference is "Reconstructing Morals, Education, and Social Sciences for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals". This theme was formulated due to several considerations. First, the symptoms of moral decline that have the potential to destroy the nation. Morals guide humanity towards truth and civilization. The phenomenon of the dehumanization process in the industrial era that pushed people to be part of abstract societies tends to ignore humanity. The education process as a humanitarian system is increasingly marginalized, especially during discussions about the industrial revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0. The conference placed six sub-themes for speakers and participants to share ideas, namely: Social Sciences and Laws, History and Cultural Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, Morals and Humanities, Policy, Politics, and Communication, Education. The committee has received 195 abstracts from prospective speakers. However, there are only 80 abstracts that are eligible to be presented at this conference.

What connects the Baltimore Washington International Airport and South Korea's Songdo International Business District? What are the cultural narratives that unfold from their bold visions of mobility and of the city in transit and transition? Put another way, what are the relations between modernity, mobile lifestyles, and urban spaces as we move deeper into what the French sociologist Marc Auge has called the age of 'supermodernity'? Perhaps more importantly, are there alternative ways of thinking about mobility and the future of society in a rapidly shrinking, globally interconnected and, at the same time, socially and culturally divided world? In their wide-ranging contributions geographers, political scientists, historians, economists, and cultural critics take a closer look at mobility in an American context (and beyond). Investigating aspects of American mobility from a decidedly transnational and transatlantic perspective, these essays conjoin in revealing mobility as a crucial constituent of what we call modernity. They also identify some of the negative consequences and challenges of mobility in an increasingly endangered global ecology.

Exploring language, culture and education among immigrants in the United States, this volume discusses the range of experiences in raising children with more than one language in major ethno-linguistic groups in New York. Research and practice from the fields of speech-language pathology, bilingual education, and public health in immigrant families are brought together to provide guidance for speech-language pathologists in differentiating language disorders from language variation, and for parents on how to raise their children with more than one language. Commonalities among dissimilar groups, such as Chinese, Korean, and Hispanic immigrants are analyzed, as well as the language needs of Arab-Americans, the home literacy practices of immigrant parents who speak Mixteco and Spanish, and the crucial role of teachers in bridging immigrants' classroom and home contexts. These studies shed new light on much-needed policy reforms to improve the involvement of culturally and linguistically diverse families in decisions affecting their children's education.

About the book ETHICS IN GOVERNANCE Amidst modern complexities and riddles, executives and organizational heads face immense ethical dilemmas in their decision-making. Circumstantial adversaries pose unique challenges and threats to their conscience and leadership abilities. This book tends to address such dilemmas, threats and challenges in a rather systematic and elucidate manner. It attempts to construct perspectives that may find practical solutions to governance rigor and internal moral conflicts. This is a book full of people, almost too many of them who took part in a national seminar on 'Ethical dimensions of governance' organized at India International Centre: executives, politicians, jurists, media people, medical practitioners, academicians, and organizational heads. Those who were philosophically as well as emotionally interested in the inter-faith debate and who believed in trying to create a synthesis of different belief systems on governance. So there is a kind of internal moral dialogue and deliberations that are captured by the authors. There are countless anecdotes, some humorous and some poignant, and they are fascinating also because such people have never been so exuberant in the public eye anyway. Individuals who are responsible for good governance and deep-down care ethical practices and human values would get enough impetus reading this book. It is also meant to benefit those who want to understand the realities of governance and based up on that want to frame their own philosophy of work and life. This book would further be useful to students and professionals who would like to learn the pitfalls of governance and there-upon set benchmarks for their future endeavors. Nevertheless, if you are unhappy allowing your trinity (intellect, soul and heart) to do the talking in the context of governance then this text cannot be recommended. This book addresses the impact of migration on the formation and transformation of identity and its continuous negotiations. Its ground is the understanding of identity as a complex social phenomenon resulting from constant negotiations between personal conditions, social relationships, and institutional frameworks. Migrations, understood as dynamic processes that do not end when landing in the host country, offer the best conditions to analyze the construction and transformation of social identities in the postcolonial and globalized societies. Searching for novel epistemologies and methodologies, the research questions here addressed are how identity is negotiated in migration processes, and how these negotiations work in contemporary multiethnic Europe. This edited volume brings to the field a novel convergence of theoretical and empirical approaches by gathering together scholars from different countries of Europe and the Mediterranean area, from different disciplines and backgrounds, challenging the traditional discipline division.
