"Fanning wisdom's flame within the heart of the reader.... This book will shed light on the spirituality of generations past as well as the light that is being called forth for future generations." She was not sleeping well. Dreams, headaches followed, the nightmares started, Night terrors which were terrifying for the both of us... then the loss of weight; I took her to a Dr. he suggested medication, which did not help. The nightmares became worse. Every night she went to bed, she would dream...she would wake up screaming, terrified every night for several weeks. Imagine a child any child going through this. I was beside myself not knowing what to do. Her headaches were getting worse, and her weight loss was worrying me. I did the only thing I knew to do; I prayed to God to help us. I was scared for my daughter, and I did not know how to stop this. I also did the second thing I knew to do; I took her to the doctor again. I told him about her nightmares, and he looked at me like I was a crazy person and asked me what I thought those nightmares were going to do to her, harm her? I said yes they already were. I was afraid for my daughter; I was afraid the nightmares were going to destroy her. He laughed. I lost all control. I could not help her, so I was putting her in someone else's hand who is supposed to help her, someone who is supposed to be a healer. He was more concerned with her weight loss and headaches and put her in the hospital for further testing. I met a mother whose daughter shared the room with my daughter. They asked me questions about my daughter, about her dreams, so I proceeded to tell them the story. The daughter kept looking at her mother, then asked her if she should tell me, only to hear her mother reply no. The mother asked me what I thought would happen if my daughter opened the door? I did not hesitate. I knew if my daughter opened the door to the man in black my daughter would die.... This broke my heart because I felt so alone with all of this, and I had no way to prevent it. How could I help my daughter? I had prayed and asked God to help me, and I knew he was the only one who could help me for this was way out of my league. The young women looked at her mother and said mom we have to tell her. Finally, I yelled, tell me what? If you have something to tell me that will help my child, PLEASE TELL ME! I was desperate and somewhere inside I knew my answer was sitting right here before my very eyes.... Find out how Kathy helped her daughter and many others with her gifts from Spirit.

The Captivity Narrative offers a collection of scholarly treatises that assess the phenomenon of captivity and the nuanced methods captives have used to express their psychological duress and the manner in which they coped with bondage and its aftermath. The essays reflect a multidisciplinary interest in the subject by offering historical, literary, and philosophical analyses. Topics include 17th-century captivity in Spanish Texas and Puritan New England, 19th-century slavery, Indian captivity in works of fiction, and the poetry, literature, and narratives of prisoners in the United States and England from the 19th to 21st century. The studies originated in a conference hosted in San Antonio, Texas (2011) by the Southwest/Texas Popular Culture and American Culture Association. Contributors include Anne Babson, Jennifer Oakes Curtis, Lanta Davis, Steven Gambrel, Anne Matthews, Alan Smith and Elisabeth Ziemba.

Devon Behrenson's world is turned upside down when circumstances shatter her dreams and leave her only an unfulfilling marriage and questions about God's plan for her life. Forced to travel a road of fear, betrayal, and trust, she is kidnapped by Matt Youngblood, a con man and convicted murderer plotting revenge on the man who tracked him down for imprisonment-Devon's husband, FBI agent Tom Behrenson. Matt entangles Devon in a mesmerizing web of manipulation and deceit that challenges her faith and threatens her very life. Will her marriage survive her disillusionment? Will her faith survive her doubts? Will she survive at all? "The Intrigue" is a compelling story of the many aspects of love. It plumbs the depths of marital love. It demonstrates the love among fellow believers in Christ. It warns that the love and pursuit of anything, even good things, more than the love and pursuit of God creates idols in the heart. Overall, it exalts a faithful and sovereign God who 'causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

Hollywood to the Himalayas is the enlightening memoir of a reluctant spiritual seeker who finds much more than she bargained for when she travels to India. As a Stanford grad in the midst of getting her PhD in Psychology, Sadhvi Sarawati was comfortable with her life. Despite years of grappling with an eating disorder and trauma from her early childhood, she felt as if she was successfully navigating her way through early adulthood. When she agreed to travel to India to appease her husband—and because she loved the food—Sadhvi would have never imagined that she would be embarking on a journey of healing and awakening. Hollywood to the Himalayas describes Sadhvi’s odyssey towards divine enlightenment and inspiration through her extraordinary connection with her guru and renewed confidence in the pleasure and joy that life can bring. Now one of the preeminent female spiritual teachers in the world, Sadhvi recounts her journey with wit, honesty, and clarity and, along the way, offers teachings to help us all step onto our own path of awakening and discover the truth of who we really are—embodiments of the Divine. “Sadhviji models for us, at the deepest level, that in the true teaching of the spiritual traditions, healing and grace are always possible.” —Prince Ea, in the foreword to Hollywood to the Himalayas “Vivid and poetic…her journey is a river of love, compelling in its authenticity and unflinching honesty. …a must for anyone who is interested in exploring different paths to fulfilment and to the Creator.” —Jane Goodall “Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati is a great teacher of spirituality and consciousness. Her inspiring wisdom illuminates the path to healing, happiness, and inner peace.” —Deepak Chopra “For so many of us, the road to the Divine sometimes begins with deep trauma. And, then Grace is bestowed upon us and we blossom in the holiness of love. Hollywood to the Himalayas is filled with wisdom and truth about the powerful revelations that unfold on the path to a deeper relationship to the divine. This is a beautiful book.” —Rev.
