After serving in the 'Great War' Casey Bretten returns to college and graduates with honors. He begins a new vocation as the manager of an Automobile Service and Repair business in Toledo, Ohio near his family farm. Through no fault of his own Casey had suffered abrupt endings to three affairs. He had tasted the 'honey of sex' and is eager to marry and settle down. He meets Emma Haan where she is working in a local bank. They fall in love and are married. Everything is going well until the Great Depression and Casey and Emma lose all they have worked for. They are near the point of destitution when Charlie Nash stops by Casey's business and offers Casey a job in Kenosha, Wisconsin at his Nash Motors Plant. The family moves to Kenosha and in 1933 they have their last child, a girl. Casey names the girl 'Tiona' which means 'Little Princess' in Indian. Unknown to Emma, Tiona is the name of Casey's first love. In 1936 Casey is promoted to the position of 'Regional Service Manager' of the entire Western United States. The family moves to Los Angeles. From 1936 to 1945 Casey flies more than 300,000 miles on United Air Lines planes. He is home with his family one week out of every twelve. During that time Emma is home with the children. Some of the problems Emma faces are: The death of her Mother. The 1938 flood in Los Angeles which almost results in the death of one of the children. "Reading through this volume is to be taken on a journey. It is to walk with Robert Sardello on his journey as he pushes forward toward new realities. In a sense, each step is not so easy. The thinking often appears dense, the ideas often new and therefore disconcerting. But each individual piece, as the whole, is bathed in an aura --in a way, we may say it is bathed in soul; in love, in generosity, and friendship. Attending to these, we find the ideas and the new possibilities begin to make sense. We are moved to change our lives." -- Christopher Bamford (from his introduction) In these introductions, Robert Sardello introduces us to many people we may not otherwise have met and introduces us to many ways of being and thinking, which we didn't know before. The range of those we meet in these pages is staggering. At the same time, there is a sweet harmony and ever-unfolding deepening of a single theme. Miraculously, it pervades and shapes the entire sequence of those whom he presents, even though he often wrote in response to a request, and not initially on his own initiative. Robert writes of matters with which he has made a deep friendship, and out of that friendship he has received and participated in a communion of ideas. He is able to do this because he has entered the aspiration of those he is introducing at the deepest level, making their insights his own and deepening them in his own way. An introduction conveys a particular soul capacity. For Robert Sardello, "soul capacities" are of the essence of what he calls Spiritual Psychology. Together with the worlds and beings to which they correspond, it is such capacities that make us human and enable us to fulfill our human tasks. Reading these introductions is an astonishing experience. Within their short, individual compasses, they allow us to participate in Robert's own journey: to catch, as it were, the bird in flight and fly with it. That is, they map his journey --at least, that portion of it that began to unfold as his destiny began to crystallize. "Robert Sardello's insights navigate many hazardous abstractions, from the so-called New Age through the perennial philosophies. With Sophia as his muse, the 'current from the future' calls him, carrying its many imaginations as energy, the always-immediate now, and the truly new. Across these authors' writings, his visionary perspective deepens in dialogue with the different works as authored beings. For writings possess their own spirit, or how otherwise do they engender a unique spirit when reborn within our own imagination?" -- Scott R. Scribner (from his introduction)

God Made Me Unique, a beautifully illustrated picture book, helps parents and caregivers teach children that God creates every person in the image of God and each individual has tremendous value, regardless of his or her appearance or abilities. The story is set in a Sunday school classroom where a new girl, Brie, is introduced by her mom. Brie's Sunday school teacher takes the time to welcome Brie and to explain to the other children why she is wearing headphones. Through getting to know Brie, the children are guided into a biblical understanding of the uniqueness of each of God's children. Along the way they learn to ask questions and gain an understanding about their new friend. Told in a charming rhyming style, this colorful, hardcover book will help eliminate fear and misconceptions about those who have special needs and emphasizes that every person deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. The back of the book contains a special section just for parents and caregivers that will guide them in how to have biblical, loving conversations with children and gives them additional information and to equip them in talking about this important subject. Like God Made All of Me by Justin and Lindsey Holcomb and God Made Me AND You by Shai Linne, God Made Me Unique gives parents the tools to have important, impactful conversations with their children that will grow their understanding of God, themselves, and others.
