For over forty years, Don Walker’s songwriting has captured what it is to be Australian. From Cold Chisel to Catfish, Tex, Don & Charlie to his solo work, as well as many other writing collaborations, Walker’s words are poetic, moving and incisive. Including classics such as “Khe Sanh”, “Flame Trees”, “Cheap Wine” and “Harry was a Bad Bugger”, this collection reveals the breadth of Walker’s vision and the precision of his prose. These lyrics live on the page, with or without the memory of music. Interspersed with autobiographical sketches and anecdotes, Songs is a must-have for fans of Walker’s brilliant, razor-sharp storytelling. Includes a foreword by Jimmy Barnes ‘Pithy, poignant, and provocative, Don Walker is the Poet Laureate of Australian rock 'n’ roll.’ —Mandy Sayer ‘As ever, the doyen to the rest of us. Beauty, humour and pathos coexist in his songs. Any time I try to write, the voice of The Don is in my head: “You sure you wanna do that?” Consistently, persistently, the master.’ —Tim Rogers ‘Pithy, acerbic, dry and deeper than a drought-ridden dam. Don’s words are truly a thing of wonder.’ —Peter Garrett ‘One of the great poets of the Australian experience. His lyrics speak of and to an Australia that is too rarely glimpsed in song, giving voice to the forgotten and dispossessed, and transforming the currents of grief and love and tenderness that run through even the most ordinary of lives into something universal.’ —James Bradley ‘Walker is one of our great storytellers. As much a keeper of the flame as Lawson, Carey or White. But he cuts to the burning heart with far fewer words.’ —John Birmingham

Everyone has setbacks. Most of us know what disappointment feels like. Some of us know the bitter taste of failure. There are times when life has not gone the way we hoped it would. We may feel responsible or we may feel we are the victim, but, either way, how can we find closure and move on? This book suggests that intentional reflection on past experiences in the presence of God may be the key that is needed for future fruitfulness. In other words, to effectively move forward in the purposes of God, we may first need to look back. Endorsement: While facing our past is sometimes daunting, Terry Nightingale builds a convincing case of why it is valuable, even transforming, especially when done in the conscious presence of God. This is a book filled with hope, encouragement and biblical insight. I take great pleasure in commending it to you. -Dr Brian Harris, Principal, Vose Seminary, Perth, Australia. Author of The Big Picture: Building Blocks of a Christian World View (Paternoster, 2015), and The Tortoise Usually Wins (Paternoster, 2013) About the Author: Terry is an Englishman living with his lovely wife Sue in Western Australia. He loves listening to progressive rock music and he likes to think he is a good cook. Terry is a Pastor of a small church in the southern suburbs of Perth and he writes a weekly blog called 'The best is yet to come' - bite-size devotions to challenge and encourage. This report explores the state of nutrition in Odisha, assesses how nutrition outcomes changed in the state, and more importantly, and examines the road that lies ahead of Odisha on the journey to support better nutrition for the state. Nutrition progress in Odisha: Odisha has made more rapid progress in reducing child undernutrition than many other richer states. Particularly between 2006 and 2016, nutrition and health outcomes improved significantly in the state. The prevalence of stunting declined from 45 percent to 34.1 percent, although there was a marginal increase in wasting from 19.6 to 20.4 percent and in severe wasting from 5.2 to 6.4 percent. In 2018, a further decline was noted in the prevalence of stunting (28.9 percent) and wasting (12.9 percent). Although anemia among women of reproductive age declined by 10 percentage points between 2006 and 2016, it is still high, with over half the women in the state suffering from anemia. Exclusive breastfeeding for children under 6 months of age is an area of progress, improving from 50.8 percent in 2006 to 65.6 percent in 2016; the prevalence of low birth weight, however, remained nearly unchanged during this period (Kohli et al. 2017). Emerging nutritional challenges, such as noncommunicable diseases, are likely to create new challenges in coming years.

Catastrophes are on the rise due to climate change, as is their toll in terms of lives and livelihoods as world populations rise and people settle into hazardous places. While disaster response and management are traditionally seen as the domain of the natural and technical sciences, awareness of the importance and role of cultural adaptation is essential. This book catalogues a wide and diverse range of case studies of such disasters and human responses. This serves as inspiration for building culturally sensitive adaptations to present and future calamities, to mitigate their impact, and facilitate recoveries.
