The health and physical education learning area is about taking action to enhance well-being. It encompasses three different but related subjects - health education, physical education, and home economics - with a shared conceptual framework and achievement objectives. Physical education is the process that uses physical activity as a means to help people acquire skills, health, fitness, knowledge and attitudes that contribute to their optimal development and well-being. It plays an important role in the development of an individual just as a school room education does.
