An extensive vocabulary is one of the most important skills required for 11+ success. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most difficult skills to master, as getting young kids to memorise hundreds of words is easier said than done! Vocabulary is tested in the 11+ in different ways such as: - Synonyms - Antonyms - Spellings - Fill in Blanks - Odd one Out - Missing Letters This book contains 100 varied and interesting exercises enabling kids to learn new words and consolidate their learning quickly and efficiently. Each exercise contains 20 or more different words that have appeared in the 11+ tests in recent past. Some of the exercises are designed to enable kids to work with groups of words with similar/opposite meanings, enabling quicker absorption of whole sets of new words. Spellings are an important, though sometimes ignored, part of 11 plus. This book has multiple exercises to test vocabulary combined with spellings. Answers to all exercises are provided at the end of the book. A child should try to do 2 or 3 exercises every day and make note of any new words to be revised later.
